SynapseStream is built on a dual-layer architecture:
The Core (Libra Kernel): A lightweight, event-driven kernel responsible for parsing content metadata, managing user profiles, and maintaining the plugin sandbox. The Libra Kernel is written in a low-footprint native language to ensure battery efficiency during prolonged reading or streaming sessions.
The Shell (Aura UI): A fully dynamic UI layer built on modern composable frameworks. The Aura UI communicates with the Libra Kernel via a typed messaging protocol, allowing for hot-reloading of themes, layout presets, and accessibility options without restarting the application.
The design philosophy borrows from the "Garden of Forking Paths" —each interaction offers multiple valid next steps, but the system learns which paths you prefer, gradually sculpting a personalized narrative garden.

Note: SynapseStream does not require an account for local use. Account registration unlocks cross-device sync and cloud-backed Voyager Mode.
